THEMES

GRADES 1-4: JR. CADET

Platform: Build a project using block-based platforms such as Scratch, Thunkable, Code.org by choosing one of the below themes

Theme 1: Game Building

Build a game that helps you learn basic concepts like pattern recognition, sequence, memory, counting, and much more.

You will have come up with an original game idea and then bring it to life using your coding skills.

Theme 2: Aquatic Game

Build an underwater game using different sea creatures as sprites.

GRADES 5-8: JR. CAPTAIN

Platform: Build a project using block-based platforms such as Scratch, Thunkable, Code.org, etc., or text-based applications such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript by choosing one of the above themes.

Theme 1: STEM Quizmaster

Build an innovative quiz/flashcard app with questions and answer options.

The quiz format can be pictorial or audio/visual, i.e. the questions and answers can contain pictures, audio, etc.

The quiz topics should be around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Theme 2: Battle of the Avengers

Build a game with Avenger characters fighting a battle against the Thanos.

The aim of Avengers is to save the planet Earth. Increase the complexity of the game by adding obstacles that can knock down the Avengers. 

 

GRADES 9-13: JR. COLONEL

Platform: Build a project using block-based platforms such as Scratch, Thunkable, Code.org, etc., or text-based applications such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript by choosing one of the above themes.

Theme 1: Inventions

Human history is full of inventions. What’s your favorite invention? Is it the airplane, self-driving car, or anything else?

Get creative and build an app or a website that has useful information about one of your favorite inventions ever.

Theme 2: Natural Resources

Natural resources are resources that exist without any actions of humankind. On Earth, it includes sunlight, atmosphere, water, land, minerals vegetation, and animal life.

Think and build an app or a website that has useful information about any one of the natural resources. Demonstrate the factors including the use, depletion, and conservation of that natural resource. 

Guidelines

1) You will have 120 min to complete your project, followed by an additional 30 min to record a video of your project.
2) You must submit your project by clicking this link. Failure to do so in time will lead to disqualification.

4) Judges’ decision will be final.
